karachi killing

Target killing in Karachi (Pakistan)
Karachi the economic hub and the most populated city of Pakistan is under terrorism these days.
Unfortunately from last few years, the city has worse every situation. And the main reason is targeted killing of not only political and religious leaders but also that of common people.
According to a report of daily times, the statistics compiled by HRCP in last six months of 2011 the figure was 1138. In first six months of 2012, 1257 people were killed in Karachi. Among those 972 were target killings and that is 70 percent of the total killings. While total killing in 2012 were 2303, they were killed on ethnic, sectarian and political grounds. Among them most of the killings were targeted.
According to SATP(an ANGO) ,the data collected from different news reports 291 people were killed from 1st January 2013 to 24th  February 2013. While I am writing my blog 45 people has been killed in a bomb blast on March 3,2013. In this blast a specific group of people (shia Muslims) is targeted. This is the worse example of target killing since the start of these conditions.
Here we should not forget the negligence of the government of Pakistan (both Federal and Provincial) because they have no control at all. And law and order situation are worse.
Here is a chart of target killing in Karachi from 2001 to 2012

You will be surprised to hear that according to joint interrogation report published by defence ministry of Pakistan last year, in these killing the party involved are MQM, MQM (haqqiqi) , Lashkar e Jhangvi, Sepah e sahaba ,PPP, ANP, Sepah e Muhammad and all these parties are the part of government.
